Having a job as an educator is some serious work, however it is also one of the most rewarding jobs ever! I have been teaching for over fifteen years now, and it is so amazing to meet kids that I taught who are now educators themselves.

  • I recently moved to a new section which means that I had to switch schools.

It was one of the hardest choices that I have ever had to make. I had taught at our previous school for over 20 years! The school that I am teaching at now is quite a bit smaller than the other location. I actually guess there are pros and cons to both! Because the school has less students, I have gotten to guess a lot more students from other classes and grades which is actually nice. It also feels a little more laid back at this school! One of the things that I consider to be a con is the fact that I cannot adjust the thermostat in our classroom because there is no thermostat located in the classroom. In the other school that I taught at, each classroom had its own thermostat. It was actually nice to be able to adjust the temperature in our classroom. I had no idea just how fantastic I had it until I moved to the school I am at now. There is a thermostat in the hallway that controls the temperature for all of the classrooms in the section of the school that I am in. I have been told by fellow educators that only the principal has the power to adjust the thermostat. I actually miss having individual thermostats.
