The simple issue here was that we were heating and cooling an entire home when we were only occupying a couple of rooms at a time.
Me and my wife and my dog have a pretty sizable home to live in, I can’t complain. We’ve been quite successful in our own respective jobs for the past few years and we’ve been able to upsize our living standards. I love my home and my wife and dog loves it too. However, I feel that some of our bills are a little more excessive than they need to be. I’m speaking primarily of our energy bill. Neither me nor my wife makes a habit of leaving lights on that don’t need to be on in the house. We’re also pretty sure that our dog doesn’t flip light switches on when we’re away either! It seems lights aren’t the problem. Despite many modern trappings, our home initially had nothing more than an old dial thermostat and a pretty conventional central heating and air conditioning system. I have to admit that our unit wasn’t the most cost-effective or energy efficient model out there. One day, I decided to research on the internet how I might fix this problem. The simple issue here was that we were heating and cooling an entire home when we were only occupying a couple of rooms at a time. I can’t believe I never knew about the alternative that I discovered during my research. Apparently, there was such a thing as zone controlled heating and air conditioning units. Zone control was precisely what we needed: heating and cooling only the rooms that we were occupying at any given time. Once the dampers within the air ducts were installed as well as the various thermostats for different parts of the house, we were in business!
