After saving for more than 2 years, I was finally ready to renovate our bedroom.  My proposal was to completely gut the room down to the studs in the walls. I wanted to update the electrical wiring, add insulation to the walls, put up current light fixtures, & sit down hardwood flooring.  I’d done a ton of research into refrigerators, ovens, microwaves & dishwashers. I had saved up enough currency to purchase all current appliances, bedroom cottages & a granite countertop. Once I’d torn everything out, I got thinking about the option of radiant flooring.  I heat our lake house with a boiler proposal linked to baseboards. The proposal is wonderfully energy efficient, clean & quiet, however the baseboard gas furnaces detract a bit from space & aesthetics. A radiant flooring proposal is installed beneath the floor, taking up no room & never drawing attention to itself.  The heat is spread truly evenly across the floor, eliminating temperature stratification, drafts, & cold spots. I liked the method of walking barefoot on a moderate floor in the wintertime. Because of already having the boiler, I didn’t guess the replacement of the piping for the radiant proposal would be all that luxurious.  I got an estimate from a local Heating & Air Conditioning corporation & went ahead with the project! Unfortunately, we ran into all sorts of unexpected concerns with the replacement. There were rotted floor joists that needed to be substituted, plumbing pipes in the way, & delays with the component arriving. My budget for the bedroom remodel kept getting greater & greater.  By the the time the radiant proposal & our hardwood floor were in site, I wasn’t sure I could even afford to purchase a microwave or dishwasher.
