Wanting to create a new and improved master bedroom, my mate and I recently renovated a screen porch as an add on to our bedroom. We felt that we might as well take the screen room and make it a large addition to the bedroom. The screen porch obviously needed walls and windows and insulation. We needed to tighten up the space, extend the wiring, make sure there were lights and outlets and all of that jazz. We also puzzled as to how best handle the heating and cooling requirements. The smaller part of the bedroom was equipped with supply and return vents connected to the central heating and cooling unit. The vents could not blow in sufficient treated air into the the larger space. Extending the ductwork would needlessly expensive, and we did not want that. There was also the chance that the HVAC system could not keep up with the demands of the added square footage. We finally brought on the expertise of local HVAC contractor for recommendations and a free pricing. He checked out our project and immediately knew that a ductless heat pump would help us the most. This type of climate control system includes an outdoor component linked to a compact indoor component. The air handler set up high on an exterior wall, works perfectly fine with only access to electricity and a three-inch hole for the conduit. It may be small and discreet, but the ductless heat pump is strong enough to keep us nice and warm or cool. It uses up less electricity than traditional HVAC units, but does the job just as well and provides both heating and cooling capacity. The ductless mini split is the perfect solution to room add-ons that need climate control..
