I am starting to think the fireplace can be romantic, but it doesn’t seem to help my kitchen to stay warm. I also had the chimney sweep company out to check it so I don’t burn my cabin down. I am starting to think that I should have inquired as to whether it would absolutely produce heat, or not. Of course, the fireplace is legitimately gorgeous and my little ones have enjoyed seeing the mantel looking all fancy. I just wish I could draw more heat from it. The central heating works well enough, but just in all the other rooms. Since my kitchen is an “add on”, the Heating and A/C just doesn’t seem to get that far. I’ve discussed this heating issue with both my wife and also the heating and cooling company from down the street. Or should I say, it is more of a “lack of heating” headache that I have discussed with them. The Heating and A/C company recommended us to have a multi-split Heating and A/C method added to that room. It can hook up to the air ducts that are already there and send more heat into the kitchen. That extra heat will absolutely be needed in the start of the winter. That added heating method would seriously help the fireplace to hot that room up. I could easily add some portable gas furnaces in that room, but that won’t help in the summer. I don’t really care about the method of my little ones around portable heaters, anyway. I guess the multi-split heating and cooling method will be perfect for us, however it will add some much-needed heat in the winter, and we’ll have another cooling unit in the summer.
