I was a worried wreck last week at work when I got my annual review. Everyone hates getting their annual performance reviews done, including the employers who have to give the reviews! No matter how you end up doing it, I believe it’s an annoying, painstaking process. When your salary and a possible raise depend on your review, it is naturally going to make you think nervous. As if I wasn’t worried enough already, the a/c in our office went on the blink last week! There was no cool air blowing in through the air vents at all; the whole air conditioner system stopped undoubtedly working.  The temperature outside was superbly hot last week, and so of course that made the indoor air conditions less high quality than it normally would have been. I was all dressed up in a silk blouse and a blazer, silks and blazers aren’t exactly the coolest articles of clothing! So between the dressy clothes, the lack of a/c, the high un-even temperatures outside, and the stress from our annual review, I was perspiring bullets! Let me tell you, I undoubtedly felt like a total fool going into our boss’s office with sweat dripping off my nose. I was praying for the a/c to kick back on, however of course, the Heating & A/C system was completely down for the count for the whole week. Finally, my boss finished up our evaluation. Though I didn’t get a huge raise, I was still excited to hear that he was planning on getting the air conditioner fixed the genuinely next day!
