I’ve been encountering a lot of troubles with my Heating & A/C provider this year, & I don’t even know exactly why. Maybe it was a change in leadership or management at the headquarters for this provider, or maybe all of the employees took a rather serious money cut! Either way, there was a noticeable difference in quality of work – & general concern – compared to the other year. I remember when I first signed up for a preventive maintenance plan with this company, & how they talked up the maintenance plan like it was the only sure way to avoid dire repairs to my heating & a/c machine. They were totally right, too! That very first year, any maintenance worker that came to my residence was all smiles, & gladly answered any questions I actually had. If I wasn’t sure about how often I should change my air filter, they would simply remind myself and others that monthly is truly ideal. They didn’t judge, either – if I didn’t really know for certain the answer to a relatively obvious heating & a/c machine question, they treated myself and others with total dignity & respect as they answered myself and others in full! Now, the men they send to my residence are dressed bad, smell like cheap booze, track mud through my residence & act as though I’m somehow intruding on their personal time. It’s truly ridiculous! The last visit for my preventive maintenance program had multiple little things that went wrong, and it was most definitely enough to make myself and others want to end the service program with the supplier altogether. It takes a lot to make myself and others feel the need to complain, too – so you can probably imagine the Heating & A/C workers they sent had to be absolutely terrible! I still get mad when I think about it. The man they sent to check up on my residential a/c spent more than four hours inspecting my central A/C condenser unit, then spent an entire hour trying to flirt with me and wanted to take me out to supper. I’m a married woman for heaven’s sake!
