Yesterday was just awful. I woke up sick, which is never a enjoyable thing, but had to get up and work on a university project I had been delaying. I was about halfway finished when our laptop froze, deleting all of the work I had done and making me have to start all over again. When I went to make lunch, I found our stomach wasn’t being cooperative. I felt hungry however I was too sick to eat anything without feeling nauseous. All I wanted was to crawl into bed at that point, curl up under our blankets, and blast the air conditioning. But I still had a university project to finish. I did finish it, reluctantly, and had made sure to save it frequently when laboring on it to avoid another mishap with the work getting deleted. When I was finished I was finally able to give in to our plan. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C device in our beach house has a remote control, which I greedily took in order to manage the temperature control to our liking as I lounged around in our bed. My temperature was still fluctuating from the illness, and I was dealing with both tepid and freezing spells, and sometimes both at once! With the remote in hand, I didn’t have to get up to adjust the setting on our cooling system. I could turn it off and on, and change the temperature setting, with just the press of a button from bed, as well as switch it to heating as needed. After the stress of laboring on our university project while sick, the convenience and comfort of our Heating, Ventilation and A/C device was a welcome relief that helped me wind down and relax at the end of a hard day.
