My husband and I have a deck connected to the back of our property. When we first bought the condo he dreamed of having endless BBQ’s and parties on the back deck. I dreamed of sipping my coffee on the deck during the sunrise. However, we soon realized that having a deck wasn’t as enjoyable and convenient as we first imagined. First off, it’s a lot of work maintaining a deck, because there’s consistently leaves and pine cones falling on top of it! It also renders useless whenever it snows outside. Second off, we can only really enjoy the deck seasonally. It’s too tepid to use during the summertime months, and too frigid to use it during the Wintertime months! We honestly could only get about 5 or 6 good months use of the deck officially. With our Christmas bonuses coming up, my husband and I spoke about converting the deck into a sunroom. A sunroom wouldn’t allow us to have any BBQ’s, but we’d still be able to entertain and I actually would be able to drink my coffee in total peace. When we spoke to our HVAC worker, he recommended that we have our Heating and Air Conditioning equipment to the new sunroom. Apparently, a lot of people think they don’t require any heating or A/C in their sun rooms, because they think it will heat and cool naturally. While some sunrooms do heat up due to an abundance of sunlight, ours wouldn’t acquire much sunlight during the daytime. Connecting our Heating and Air Conditioning equipment to the sunroom would cost us more currency, but it would ultimately provide us with what we wished for. We didn’t want to get stuck with a sunroom that we weren’t able to use at all!
